The X-1 is a dual-seat, recumbent racing cycle manufactured by Ossa Sports. It was developed by the designer and racer Ivan Shefer. The 2009 model of this bike features a modified shape and new materials for both body and frame. The bike has been designed with aerodynamics in mind, resulting in a low frontal area and less drag than other similar models. The result is that the power required to propel the bike forward is reduced to about half that of other bikes; it thus can be used without any modification as an ordinary bicycle as well as for racing purposes such as triathlon or touring cycling around town.
